Pulte Homes Project Pitch

Designed at Launch Interactive LLC.

My company did an onsite pitch for Pulte Homes on a kiosk experience. I was pulled into this project early on in my UX Design career to help brainstorm ideas for the kiosk experience as well as going beyond the kiosk to look at the pitch from a Service Design perspective by exploring the environment this kiosk would live in. A team of five of us from different departments worked diligently to put together a presentation in a short amount of time.

Process

The brainstorming process began with multiple meetings the first week to crank out as many ideas as possible focusing specifically on the user building their own home utilizing a kiosk experience. After we got a solid idea on what direction we were going for the kiosk, we started to think about the environment the kiosk would be in. We took a Service Design approach to focus on the flow of the user from start to finish as well as their surroundings from walking in the door to walking out to make sure we were bringing forward the best design thinking.

Low fidelity wireframes

I put together some low fidelity wireframes in Sketch to get the design thinking up and running and passed them along to Creative.  The team had frequent meetings and workshops to make sure that we were all aligned. We explored having environmental elements like physical samples of the products you find in a home (countertops, cabinets, flooring, etc.) to place around the kiosk for the user to see and touch. This brought the digital kiosk experience of building your home to the physical world.  We loved this idea and how much it added to the kiosk experience so we decided to add it to our pitch deck.

Results

We went to the client's office to present the pitch with everyone involved in designing the experience having a part in the presentation. Our team was very happy with how the pitch went and loved being able to collaborate so closely from start to finish. The client ended up going with another agency but this pitch was definitely one of my most proud projects because my team trusted me as the sole UX designer and we were all so proud of the outcome.
